JPM Week isn’t just about the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference - over 42 years, a healthcare bonanza has grown up around the event. In fact, there are multiple full-day conferences happening from Sunday to Wednesday - so there’s a lot to do all around San Francisco.

Sunday Jan 12

Daytime

  • 9am – 6pm CERSI Innovations in Regulatory Science Summit. A good way to spend Sunday as a warm-up to the actual conference. Lots of good speakers directly from the FDA, including the current commissioner of the FDA, Robert Califf. I always hear of young biotechs facing regulatory woes, so this is a good opportunity for learning.
  • 10:30am – 1:30pm Healthcare Investor Brunch. Paid opportunity ($100) to have brunch in a nice steakhouse and meet investors. Officially sponsored by J.P. Morgan.

Evening

Monday Jan 13

Morning

  • 6:15am - 7:15am Sweat Equity 5K. It’s a fun run starting from Union Square (where JPM Week is held) to the historic Ferry Building, overlooking the Bay! Hosted by CG Life.
  • 8am - 10am Israeli Breakfast. Casual breakfast for Israelis to hang out before the conference day starts. Israeli start-ups might also be interested in signing up for the Israeli Start-up Showcase.

Evening

  • 6pm – 9pm STAT@JPM: Health Care’s New Era. STAT is one of the most important news outlets in healthcare, and this event is a big crowd pleaser. It’s put on in the beautiful Merchants Exchange Banking Hall.
  • 6pm - 9pm Cocktail Reception Hosted by Biomed Realty and Biocom California at a nice cocktail lounge. Registration isn’t open yet.
  • 5:30pm-7:30pm French Reception by Business France for French execs and start-ups to get together.
  • 6pm - 10pm Innovators Bar/Cocktail Reception. Hosted by several companies and free. It’s a bar night put on by a bunch of sponsors right around the corner from Union Square. The place has good reviews and a huge balcony for fresh air.

Tuesday Jan 14

Daytime

  • 7am - 7pm RESI JPM 2025. The largest and most comprehensive healthcare investment symposium, attracting thousands of life science professionals globally.
  • 7:30am - 3:30pm McDermott Forum. A meeting of influential executives, innovators, and investors, hosted at the Ritz-Carlton and sponsored by EY. The event is paid, but there’s a free reception at SPIN in the evening.
  • 2pm - 5pm The 5th Global IR Pitching @ JPM 2025.  A unique platform for innovative companies to showcase their investment opportunities to big names including J.P Morgan, Pfizer and J&J. Hosted at the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center.
  • 4pm – 6pm UC Berkeley Bio Startup Showcase. A very popular event for VCs to get in early on Berkeley-based startups. It was very oversubscribed last year, so I recommend you sign-up early.
  • 5:30pm – 7:30pm University of Oxford Startup Showcase. Another event for early startups, this time coming out of Oxford, UK. Just under a 10 minute walk from Union Square, and 8 mins from the showcase above, if you want to hit them back-to-back.

Evening

  • 6pm – 9pm Sheppard Mullin Reception. Held at a contemporary art gallery around the corner from Union Square, hosted by law firm Sheppard Mullin. You have to email them to RSVP.
  • 6pm - 8pm Kearney Evening Reception with Healthcare Experts. Exclusive networking event with Kearney experts and other industry leaders and innovators, location sent upon RSVP.
